What's the difference between the Stub and In Progress categories?

A stub is an article that needs expanding but is not being actively worked on by someone. In Progress means one or more people are actively (though perhaps slowly) working on expanding the article. You should always feel free to add material to either stubs or articles in progress. However, if you are going to make significant additions to an in progress article it would be courteous to contact active contributors (see the History and Discussion (Talk) pages) before making big changes in format or content.
