Forum:Linkbar for sets of items

We currently use link bars to link related pages such as Weapons, or Consumables. Should we be using a link bar to link together parts of the same set of items? For instance, I uploaded Lei Wan-tzu's Armor and created a linkbar for it to link between the pieces. This could be used for lots of different things, the 3 types of relic armor, ancient armor, mage armor, etc. Also, weapon sets like sing weapons, assault, soulbound etc. Thoughts? Is the placement right? should it be above the intro bar, or should it be removed altogether as a bad idea. haha --Immortalbob 02:10, 1 May 2011 (EST)

IMO it's not needed. The page Lei Wan-tzu's Armor should redirect to the live event it came from, once we have an article created. Same goes for various sets of quest gear. All the items are listed under the Items section, and individual items all link back to the quest guide, so there is already a way to navigate to the other pieces. If we think links directly between the set pieces would be helpful, it could be put in the notes. For example, the Squalid Shield could have a note like:

If we do decide to use these related links boxes on more pages, I think there should be a single template to use, instead of creating a new one for every set. Something like:

{{Related Box
 |  Title =
 | Item01 =
 | Item02 =
 ...
}}

I do agree that a new template per set is not the best course of action, the primary focus of this idea is to provide easier access to the items in each "set", rather then having to load the quest guide each time you want to switch to a new piece. This could cut bandwidth, and increase usability of the wiki by cutting out a step. There are a bunch of pages that can be replaced by cross linking sets of items. Ex: Assault Weapons, Quiddity Weapons, Ancient Armor, etc --Immortalbob 04:13, 2 May 2011 (EST)

I think I can make a generalizable template that would be good for things like these, I'll post an example once I'm done. --Tlosk 13:32, 6 May 2011 (EST)
