Quest Overview
- You must be between level 100 and 149 to get flagged to pick up the Essence. You can easily run to the end of the dungeon, to a safe spot near the exit portal. The final room has about 6 Wretcheds in it. If you can't kill them fast enough, you can ignore them and just attack the totem.
Walk Through
- Talk to Soju Bo-Ki in Ayan Baqur.
- Kill the Hastar the Misbegotten at 93.2S, 94.6W on Singularity Caul. You will have to run around the mountains to get there.
- Loot Hastar's Essence.
- Give the Essence to Soju Bo-Ki in Ayan to get a Black Gateway Token.
- Hand the token to the Black Totem Gateway at 93.2S, 94.6W to be flagged for the Black Totem Temple. Note that this is a one time flagging.
- Use the totem to enter the temple.
- If you die, you can use the Black Totem Gateway to get back inside.
- Attack and destroy the Black Totem at the end of the dungeon.
- Note: The totem is in a room with 6 Wretcheds on a very fast respawn rate. If you are alone, it is very unlikely you will be able to keep them dead. Instead focus on the totem and run back out the hallway to heal. They will not follow you down the hallway.

Soju Bo-Ki tells you, "I've already asked you to venture to 92.9 S, 94.7 W in the Sigularity Caul and bring me back the essence of the Shadow lord known as Hastar the Misbegotten. Please hurry."

Soju Bo-Ki tells you, "Well done. The essence of Hastar the Misbegotten is indeed helpful. It allows me to make this token, which will gain you entrance to the chambers of Grael's Black Totem. Simply give this Gateway Token to the Black Totem Gateway on the Singularity Caul, and a portal should open up for you. Once you have gained access to the Black Totem Temple, destroy the Black Totem, and that will help split Grael's power..."

I will get this to our mages, who might be able to work the proper rituals of sympathetic magic to keep Grael's spirit sundered. You have done the realm of Dereth a great service, friend."
