Khayyaban lies on the edge of Gharu'ndim lands, south of [[Uziz]] and east of [[Xarabydun]].

== Getting to Khayyaban ==

Khayyaban portals can be found in either [[Lin]] or [[Al-Jalima]], and also in the south branch of [[Umbral Halls]]. It also hosts two appartment portals, [[Victory Residential Halls]] connecting [[Lin]] and [[Samsur]], and [[Oriel Residential Halls]] connecting [[Mayoi]] and [[Platau Village]].

Lin is a quiet Sho town known for it's tranquil forrest setting. Although there are many good low level dungeons and quests in the area, the surrounding wilds can be quite dangerous for someone of appropriate level.

There are Lin portals in [[Khayyaban]] and [[Tou-Tou]]. Another Lin portal can be found in the [[Victory Residential Halls]], via [[Samsur]] and [[Khayyaban]]. Additionally, there is another portal in the east branch of [[Umbral Halls]].

For many years it was very difficult to reach do to lack of portal access. Recently, however, a portal to Kara has been added to [[Shoushi]].

In the early days, Fort Tethana was a thriving center for trade and social activity. Fuled by the high prices the vendors would pay for goods and the proximity of adventuresome Dires hunting grounds, people came from far and wide to trade and socialize.

Under the guise of "Fair Trade" the vendors accross [[Dereth]] standardized their buy and resale rates, which ended many merchant's profitable trade of buying from a [[Master Mage]] or other inexpensive vendor and selling these goods in Fort Tethana or other Dires towns.

It did not take long for Fort Tethana to become a far less traveled destination, which was very unfortunate, as a large group of [[Renagade]]s, an alliance of [[Lugian]]s and [[Tumerok]]s, set up nearby and layed seige to the hapless town.

Having received no help from High Queen [[Elysa Strathelar]], Tethana Commander [[Jared Kurth]] turned to the Viamontians for help. Instead he was turned into a ravening monster by the power-mad [[Count Dardante]]. The Renagade siege remains unlifted to this day.

Fort Tethana can be reached through the [[Colossus Foundary]], one of the [[Statue Dungeons]]. These statues can be found in [[Ayan Baqur]], [[Wei Jhou]], and [[Kara]]. ''Hint: there is a [[Kara]] portal in [[Shoushi]].''

Arwic, one of the principal cities on Dereth, is strategicly located on the edge of the Aluvian lands near the Olthoi infested north.

In the early days, Arwic was a busteling center of commerce, with people coming from all over to trade and talk. Portal storms were not so much frequent, as nearly constant. This all changed in the shadow wars, when Arwic was destroyed by a shadow spire. The gaping crater remained unoccupied for years, until the town was rebuilt from the ruins, newer, stronger, and better.

== Monster Warning! ==

Directly NW of the city walls is a crater where one of the shadow spires is burried. This crater contains a large number of highly dangerous high level Mukkir and Shadows. This area is best avoided, except to dash into the [[Tou-Tou]] portal.

== Getting to Arwic ==

You can find Arwic portals in the towns of [[Holtburg]] and [[Tou-Tou]], as well as the [[Abandoned Mines]] aka Subway, sub, or Hub, depending on your server.

A short run NW of Arwic is [[Abandoned Mines]], one of the principal [[Portal Nexus Dungeons]], with connections to the towns of [[Qalaba'r]], [[Mayoi]], [[Hebian-To]], [[Shoushi]], [[Cragstone]], [[Holtburg]], [[Glendon Wood]], [[Rithwic]], [[Zaikhal]], [[Samsur]], and [[Yaraq]].

A short run NNW of Arwic is a portal to Mountain Shortcut, an area with some useful dungeons and a connection to [[Bandit Castle]].
